I’ve been asked several times to give some quick tips on lists so here are my 5 Fantastic Tips to build and use your list.

Do them. Profit. ‘Nuff Said.

To do list building you’ve got to get them on your list.

Yeah, duh moment, but if you don’t capture at least their e-mail address you aren’t building a list.

So, at every opportunity, ask for their e-mail address.

And this means you t0o if you are doing affiliate marketing. Don’t just send them directly to the sales page, stop them, give them something great and get their e-mail address and then send them on.

You saw me do that when promoting Dan Kennedy’s Info-Riches and I bet you didn’t even notice because when you signed up for me I automatically signed you up for Dan’s list.

2. Same Old, Same Old — NOT!

Don’t just use the standard sales pages and affiliate copy and e-mail and whatever that every one else is using. How “I’m a loser” is that?

Make a different pitch, give a different bonus, rewrite the e-mails, do whatever you need to do to be different, otherwise you’re just commoditizing yourself — like that big word “commoditizing” icon smile 5 Fantastic List Tips

3. Keep Your Hand in Their Pocket

Don’t let these people go with just the one time sale, after all they are putting food in the mouths of your children and delaying that Ferrari purchase!

Try these things:

  1. Sell them something else on your free gift download page
  2. For affiliate sales work a deal with the product owner to add your product to their OTO or download page
  3. Sell memberships so you get continuing monthly income; this work for your own or as an affiliate
  4. Sell them something BEFORE you send them to the main product.
  5. If they are on an autoresponder sequence include some “this product is so sweet” e-mails in the sequence (or part of the sequence)

4. Give Until It Hurts

Do NOT hold out on your prospects or your customers. Give them so much value that they’d feel foolish not to buy.

Now, sometimes this is easier said than done, but ALWAYS try to do that.

Aim for 10 times the value but if you can do 100 times the value you’ve got them.

5. Don’t Be Predictable

Offer a wide variety of things over time at different price points.

Not everyone wants the same thing at the same time but everyone wants SOMETHING at all times so you need to make sure you mix it up so you give everyone something they want eventually.

Do this with your own products, with other people’s products, with joint ventures, etc. – whatever you can find that would be of great value to your list (and they’d want it, of course!)

This will attract more people to your list and let you get more value from each person; just don’t confuse them by offering several different things at once — one at a time please!

Conclusion

That’s it, 5 quick tips to build and get more from your lists.

Yeah, no much of a conclusion but I like them so I put it in.
