I’ve been asked several times to give some quick tips on lists so here are my 5 Fantastic Tips to build and use your list.
Do them. Profit. ‘Nuff Said.
1. Lock ’em Up
To do list building you’ve got to get them on your list.
Yeah, duh moment, but if you don’t capture at least their e-mail address you aren’t building a list.
So, at every opportunity, ask for their e-mail address.
And this means you t0o if you are doing affiliate marketing. Don’t just send them directly to the sales page, stop them, give them something great and get their e-mail address and then send them on.
You saw me do that when promoting Dan Kennedy’s Info-Riches and I bet you didn’t even notice because when you signed up for me I automatically signed you up for Dan’s list.
In this fourth and final part, we’ll look at a mistake so serious I am convinced it is the single biggest reason why people fail in their Internet Marketing business (or in life).
Like the other mistakes we talked about, people don’t realize they are doing making it. In fact, they are very sure they aren’t making it and would argue almost violently that they are doing the exact opposite.
What convinces them, and others who see them, that they aren’t making this “biggest mistake” is that it appears on the surface they aren’t making it but when you look more deeply and without blinders, then you can see the truth.
What they, and maybe you, are not doing is…

In part 1, we looked at mistakes people make when doing e-mail marketing and in part 2 we looked at mistakes people make with split testing; the most common one being not doing it 🙂
This time we’re going to look at one mistake that people make on their landing pages – sales pages, squeeze pages, blog posts, etc.
But this is not an obvious mistake like bad sales copy or hideous graphics.
It is one much more subtle but is so important that doing it can multiple your conversion rate and really strengthen your Conversions Pillar.
Research has shown that one of the biggest reasons people quickly leave a landing page is…

For a project I am doing that requires me to get some Unix Web hosting accounts, I was doing some research this past weekend, May 2, 2009, into who are the best hosting companies to use.
I went to the 15 rating Web sites that I found on the first page of Google, either in the paid AdWords section or the free, organic search section, and listed them in a spreadsheet.
Then I used a simple weighting formula to find out who the best ones are from those various rating Web sites.
In addition, I went to forums, review and opinions sites and looked at the opinions I could find and then did a rating of which seemed the best based upon the reviews.
Altogether there were 25-30 companies that were included because they’d been rated well in the above, here are the top 5 as calculated by the Web rating Web sites:

In part 1, we looked at how many people make mistakes when doing e-mail marketing.
We went from understanding e-mail marketing to creating a good “offer” to entice people to join your list, to how to present that offer so it converts well, to the importance of building a relationship and caring for your list, and why you should always be following up with your list.
If you’ve done just some of what we talked about there, you should have already seen an improvement in your conversions.
This time we’re going to take a brief look at something all highly successful online businesses do. Something that separates the winners from the losers.
Something that most people know they should do, fewer do but don’t do consistently, fewer still do but not properly and others, the most successful, do and do well…

You probably know about my 3 Pillars of Guaranteed Success (if you don’t, you should :-).
All of my business efforts are aimed at the Pillars so that I keep focused on only those items that will bring success and don’t get seduced into all those other attractive but distracting opportunities.
In this series of blog posts, I am going to show you 4 things you’re probably doing wrong that can accelerate the success you can get. They work very well with the 3 Pillars but they also work well if you don’t have the 3 Pillars foundation, just not as well as with that foundation.

Is your business going the way you want it? Or do you stuck?
Sometimes I find myself feeling the same way and want to make some big changes.
Then I remember this analogy I heard from Jimmy D. Brown, and ask myself “are you pushing the right car?“…

This is just my second post on this new blog but this will be something a bit different…
I’ve sent a few more e-mails lately than I normally do and they’ve included some promotions that I’ve thought could help.
This apparently bothers some people and they complained that I’ve “turned into a marketer” or “that I am just like all the rest”.
My initial reaction was…

I’ve spent a few years now in business and a while in online businesses and have realized there are only 3 things you need to guarantee success in your online business and without them you are guaranteed to fail.
