It included the instructions and JavaScript code how to capture an affiliate ID and send it to your autoresponder account and store it there for later use during promotions.
It was a popular post and I received a lot of e-mail about it thanking me and asking questions.
Recently I was asked for some help by Fendi on how to make it work with a different format for the affiliate ID.
The way I had originally set it up the affiliate ID had to be in this format: http://YourDomain.com/?[YourCode]=[AffiliateID]
Some examples of the affiliate ID portion would be:
- aff_id=340987
- hop=theboss123 (ClickBank)
- InvitedBy=DavidHusnian
This worked great and covered a lot of ground but Fendi wanted to know if it could work with this format: http://YourDomain.com/?[AffiliateID].
It doesn’t but I’ve made some modifications so that now it does and this post explains those and gives you updated JavaScript source code and instructions.

Online Success Last time we introduced look at business models of selling physical products, what it is and why you should have one.
You can do that using an existing offline business or you can just sell physical products online. You make arrangements with manufacturers and you create Web pages that sell products.
There is a close cousin to that second business model and it is one of the best and most popular business models used today.
This “cousin” gives you some of the same advantages:
- You don’t have to create and manufacture products
- You don’t have to worry about product delivery
- Your customer service requirements are small
- Your share of the profits is good
It also provides new benefits:
- You don’t have to create as much of the marketing, if you don’t want to
- No quotas or purchase obligations
- No requirement for handing payment processes, refunds, etc.
This model is so successful that I personally have met people earning many millions of dollars every year using this model almost exclusively and many more earning a nice, consistent income month after month.

Tips & Techniques I had one of my marketing friends ask me a question about how to get affiliates to promote his free newsletter.
If he sent people to a squeeze page their affiliate link would be lost so there is little incentive to promote for him.
There are some complicated ways to handling this but a more generic and simple to use way was needed.
As we discussed it I had an idea, that turned out to be was easy to do, most people can use it and it worked great.
Using a simple HTML page and an autoresponder, both typical for a squeeze page, you can have your affiliates promote with an affiliate ID and that affiliate will be forever associated with that customer when you send out promotional e-mail; although you can choose which promotions affiliates participate in.
This can be a powerful tool to getting affiliate traffic, one of the best sources of traffic.
If you have any type of a landing page where you are selling directly but getting people to give you their e-mail address then just adding this code means you are ready to get lots of other people sending their subscribers to you.
